Dan Garfield
is an experienced Networking and IT Security consultant and trainer whose involvement
with technology spans over 20 years. In the
networking arena he has served as Director of Networks for the
Renaissance Center (a high-technology and arts educational
foundation), and as Webmaster for the South East Academic
Technical Excellence Consortium, SEATEC (a project of the
National Science Foundation).
During
the 1980s, as chief executive and product designer for Garfield
Electronics, Inc., he developed patented hardware and software
for revolutionary music synchronization devices which served as
the de facto music industry standard for film scoring, ad
jingles, album and live music production.
Mr.
Garfield has provided consulting services to numerous major
artists, including Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Don Felder, Michael
Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, Herbie Hancock, Jerry
Goldsmith, James Horner, David Byrne, Barry Manilow, Herb
Alpert, and many others - even touring worldwide with the Stevie
Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, Joe Walsh, and Lindsey Buckingham bands.
Holding
numerous certifications from Cisco (CCNP, CCDP),
Microsoft (MCSE), EC-Council (CEH), Novell (CNE), ISC2 (CISSP),
Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP), HIPAA Academy (CHP,
CHSS), and CompTIA (A+, Network+,
i-Net+, CTT+), his
academic degrees include an Associate of Arts in Music from City
College of San Francisco, and an Associate of Science in
Communications Technology from Nashville State Technical
Institute (where he received the All American Scholar
